PC Cop ~ The Self Service, Manageable Public Access Software
|
To
guarantee the public access to information, libraries have been
acquiring public access computers at a rapid rate. Providing the
internet to the public brings with it certain challenges. Among these
challenges is the libraries' ability to regulate the amount of computer
time allotted to patrons. PC Cop time management system was
specially designed to be a centralized system for the allocation and
enforcement of time and use limits on public access computers. The
ability to automate this process drastically reduces the need for staff
involvement or even staff intervention. Our software for the reservation of Personal Computers,
PC Cop, is 100% customizable to provide patrons with a
predetermined amount of time for their computer session. When time is up the
session is ended and the user will not be able to log back in. This feature may be modified to allow patrons log back
in after a session ends or to extend a session if there are no reservations in the que. Self Service
Kiosks allow patrons to reserve a future session, or to place themselves on
an automated waiting list. CIPA compliant internet filtering is available
upon request.
